Jeanette Bowlby, Artistic Director
Jeanette Bowlby has been with womanSong for a number of years as an outstanding singer, soloist, and section leader. Jeanette lives in Ripley, WV, with her husband and two children. She has a Bachelor of Music Education from WVU and Master of Music in Music Education from Kent State University.
Jeanette is a retired music educator, formerly the band director for Ripley High School. In addition to her responsibilities with womanSong, Jeanette is music director and cantor for her church in Ravenswood, WV. She loves to play flute, sing, and conduct. Jeanette loves all types of music and even got to meet the Carpenters, Alice Cooper, and Wynton Marsalis!
Lois Coffey, Accompanist
Lois Coffey serves as our accompanist. In prior years, she also sang alto in womanSong. She is the church pianist and handbell director at United Disciples of Christ Church in South Charleston, a position she has held for more than 20 years. Handbell ringing, both as a soloist and in ensembles, and leading classes for ringers in West Virginia and surrounding states have been her passions since the early ‘90s.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, and worked as treasurer for Presbytery of West Virginia until her retirement. She continues to manage finances for nonprofit organizations from her home. Lois is a native of Iowa and found her way to South Charleston, her home for the past 21 years.
